Speech & language care for every Houstonian, every age.
I'm Lauren — a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of AAD Pediatric Therapy. For over a decade we've supported Houston families with pediatric speech, language, and articulation care. Today we're expanding to serve adult clients and offering telehealth across Texas.
A career built around communication — at every age.
Lauren earned her Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from The University of Texas at Austin and her Master's in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Texas at Dallas.
She began her career in Early Childhood Intervention and spent two years working in Texas public schools before founding AAD Pediatric Therapy, PLLC in 2009. Today she serves as Owner and Supervising Speech-Language Pathologist of the practice in Houston, mentoring a team of clinicians and partnering with clients and families across the city.
Every member of our team is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Our approach has always been person-centered and built on the belief that everyone — toddler, school-age child, or adult — deserves to be heard and understood. After more than a decade focused on pediatric care, we're proud to be expanding our practice to serve adult clients, too.
Every person — toddler, school-age child, or adult — deserves to be heard and understood. That belief built this practice and still drives it today.
Speech & language care across the lifespan.
Our SLPs draw on expertise in phonological, language, fluency, articulation, oral-motor, and AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) support. Every treatment plan is built around the individual.
For Children
Articulation & Phonology
Helping children produce sounds clearly so they can be confidently understood at home, school, and play.
Language Development
Building expressive and receptive language skills — from first words to complex storytelling.
Fluency
Compassionate, evidence-based support for children who stutter and the families who love them.
AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication)
Helping children with limited or emerging verbal communication find their voice through high- and low-tech AAC tools — including speech-generating devices, picture-based systems, and core-vocabulary boards. We work alongside families, schools, and caregivers to choose the right system, build robust communication skills, and make sure every child has a way to be heard.
Oral-Motor Therapy
Targeted exercises to strengthen the muscles used for clear, confident speech.
First Words and Early Language Learners
Family-centered support for the youngest communicators, drawing on years of ECI experience.
Adult services we offer
Every adult treatment plan is built around individual goals, daily life, and the people who matter most to our clients.
Aphasia & Stroke Recovery
Rebuilding language, comprehension, reading, and writing skills after stroke or brain injury.
Cognitive-Communication
Therapy for memory, attention, problem-solving, and executive function challenges in adults.
Motor Speech (Dysarthria & Apraxia)
Improving speech clarity for adults with Parkinson's, ALS, MS, or other neurological conditions.
Voice Therapy
Care for vocal nodules, hoarseness, vocal fatigue, and gender-affirming voice work.
Accent & Communication Coaching
Professional speaking, articulation, and accent modification for adult clients.
Telehealth Speech Therapy
Telehealth speech therapy, also known as telepractice, is an evidence-based service delivery model that allows children and families to receive high-quality speech and language services from the comfort of their own home. Research from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) shows that telepractice can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many speech and language needs, with studies demonstrating comparable outcomes, strong family satisfaction, and improved access to care. (ASHA Telepractice Resources)
Telehealth also offers a level of flexibility that many busy families truly appreciate. After-school therapy appointments are often the most requested times and can come with long waitlists and limited availability. Telehealth can provide families with more scheduling options and a convenient alternative that fits more naturally into daily routines. Many children feel more comfortable and confident participating in therapy within their familiar environment, which can help increase engagement and carryover into everyday life.
Our therapists are highly trained and experienced in delivering engaging, interactive telehealth sessions that keep children motivated and connected. Through digital activities, play-based learning, interactive games, and strong caregiver collaboration, we create personalized sessions that are both effective and fun. We work hard to ensure that every child feels supported, encouraged, and successful — no matter where they are joining from.
